Pine River Sweeps Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Contest for Second Consecutive Year

For the second year, Pine River won first, second and third place in the 2022 Wisconsin State Fair Cheese Blue Ribbon Dairy Contest held in West Allis, Wisconsin. . This is the 9th time that the cheese maker has won the category in the last 14 competitions.

Pine River’s Grilled Onion Cold Cheese Spread won the Blue Ribbon, followed by Garlic & Herb Cold Cheese Spread in second and Pepper Jack Cold Cheese Spread in third.

More than 300 entries, divided into 40 classes of cheese, sour cream, butter, yogurt and milk, were submitted to the competition, which was held June 23 at WI State Fair Park. Winners will be recognized at the Blue Ribbon Dairy Auction on August 11, which raises funds to support scholarships and the efforts of the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board.
