If you love Mounds chocolate bars, you’ll love Aviator Cookie Co. Chocolate Coconut Cookies.

Chris Welch, owner of Aviator Cookie Co. and an airline pilot for a major US airline, said the cookie inspired by the Hershey chocolate bar of the same name was flying off the shelves.

“The mounds are very popular,” he said. “There is a bit of a cult following him. “

The cookie, made with semisweet chocolate and coconut chips and drizzled with coconut dark chocolate, is one of the bakery’s ever-evolving ‘first class’ cookie offerings, priced at $ 3 each. Others include s’mores, lime pie, and cranberry white chocolate.

“We try to create unique flavors. … I love to experiment and do new things, ”Welch said, noting that he has developed dozens of recipes for his bakery.

Classic flavors, like chocolate chips, are available all the time and cost $ 2.50 each.

Heidi’s Darn Good Cookies in Kochville Township in Saginaw County offers ice cream cookie sandwiches to satisfy your sweet tooth and help you beat the summer heat.

These sweet, cold and creamy treats are available in nearly 20 flavors including M&M, Unicorn, Snickers, Blue Moon, Red Velvet, s’mores, Snickerdoodle, Birthday Cake, Cookies and Cream, Superman and more . They are priced at $ 6 and large enough to share.

“They’re huge,” said business owner Heidi Niernberg, noting that each cookie is made with a third cup of dough, and each cookie sandwich is five to six inches thick. “They are easily shareable.”

The reaction she often hears from customers who see them for the first time is simply “wow”.

Company owner Heidi Niernberg said her nephews are helping her develop new flavor combinations.

Mini Donut Delight Factory offers a sweet pastry that combines two breakfast favorites into one miniature treat.

The French Toast Donut is a cinnamon donut topped with cream cheese, cinnamon sugar and a drizzle of caramel. It’s a bestseller, along with the strawberry shortbread donut, said business owner Donna Payton.

“I have a variety of them,” said Payton, who makes all the donuts on-site at the SVRC Marketplace in downtown Saginaw. “There are so many kinds. “

The mini donuts are small enough that customers can try out a few flavors without filling up. Payton said two or three of his mini donuts amounted to a standard-sized donut.

Other flavors include ‘coconut cha cha’, which is topped with lemon frosting and coconut flakes, and ‘pig in the blanket’, which is topped with bits of bacon.

Payton’s favorites are French Toast and Bavarian Cream.

Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Co. adds “Pumpkin S’more” to its fall menu

Over the summer Campfire S’more was a popular flavor of Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Co. Now, with the weather getting colder and the seasons changing, Bay City-based ice cream has added Pumpkin S’more to the menu.

The ice cream shop is located in the Uptown Bay City development. Director Tim Mangan said there are three key things to know about Cream & Sugar and what makes it unique: “We support Michigan agriculture. We have locally sourced ingredients. And we make everything from scratch right here in the store.

The ice cream case usually has 16 flavors to choose from, some of which are must-haves like the ever popular Dairy Farmer’s Delight, described as “a delicious creme caramel with chocolate coated caramel chunks and a caramel ribbon”, while that others are seasonal. offerings.

Happy Little Treats opened in October 2020 at the SVRC Market in downtown Saginaw with over 20 flavors of macaroon including cookies and cream, birthday cake, lemon head and clove of vanilla. There is also the chocolate covered cherry, pistachio, chocolate espresso, chocolate silk, caramel crunch, lavender and lemon, raspberry, honey cinnamon, toasted coconut, cookie dough, tutti frutti and chocolate peanut butter. Seasonal flavors included eggnog, bacon and maple pancakes, gingerbread, peppermint crunch, Marley, and sugar cookies.

Saginaw’s Delicious Sweets pastry shop offers exaggerated kake shakes

Delicious Sweets Bakeshop, known for its personalized cakes and other delicious desserts, also offers Kake Shakes.

The new sweet and creamy offering is a cake-inspired milkshake with flavors like Banana Pudding, Coco Krazy, Red Velvet, and Strawberry Shortcake, a customer favorite. They are made with cream and milk and some have brownies, cookies, cakes, candies and other candies mixed or served on top.

“I just started to come up with all of these crazy flavors and the response has been overwhelming,” said business owner Cierra Warren.
