Michigan’s Best Chocolate Ice Cream in the Nation

A Michigan creamery won a blue ribbon for best chocolate ice cream at a trade show.

MOO-ville creamery, based in Nashville, Mich., Received a blue ribbon for chocolate ice cream, a red ribbon for vanilla ice cream, and a white ribbon for strawberry ice cream. Cream Clinic at the North American Ice Cream Association 2021 convention. The creamery received the best prices for its chocolate flavor along with three other American creameries.

The 2021 Orlando trade show was the largest in recent history with more than 400 attendees over the three-day event, according to NICRA. Additionally, 225 visitors purchased day passes for the convention, showing rapid growth for the show.

MOO-ville Creamery offers Michigan ice cream made with pure Michigan sugar and flavors produced in Kalamazoo. The creamery currently makes over 80 different flavors at its mid-Michigan location.

In addition to MOO-ville, other Michigan creameries were represented at the annual show. Blank Slate Creamery in Ann Arbor took third place for Best New Non-Dairy Flavor for its peppermint rind flavor.

The event also included a charity auction to benefit the Bryce Thompson Fellowship. The auction raised a record $ 55,000 for scholarships for dairy workers across the country, according to NICRA. Two Michiganders were among the winners, Anna Corgan of Sweet Temptations in Grand Haven and Kristina Drabczyk of Custard Corner in Trenton.
