Michigan shoppers will see more Country Fresh brand dairy products on grocery store shelves, thanks to the new owner.

Country Fresh recently became a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a national dairy cooperative that helps support local dairy farm families.

Last year, DFA purchased a significant portion of the assets of Dean Foods, including 44 facilities across the country, one of which will now be the Country Fresh Dairy plant in Grand Rapids.

Under the new owner, the Country Fresh plant management team will continue to manage day-to-day operations and all employees will retain their current positions.

“Country Fresh has always been focused on producing fresh, healthy dairy products for our Michigan consumers,” said Eric Eves, Managing Director of Country Fresh. “With our new ownership of a farmer-owned dairy cooperative, we are excited to return to the roots of our regional brand and provide Michigan consumers with delicious dairy products for many years to come. “

Country Fresh processes approximately 980,000 gallons of milk per week for its dairy product line, which includes buttermilk, half and half whipping cream, soft ice cream mixes, cottage cheese, sour cream, dips and juices.
