In September, the school year is in full swing! Hello, my name is Mikaila Davis, Berks County Dairy Princess. Now that school has started, let’s talk about the different ways to include three servings of dairy products in your diet each day.
Start your day with dairy products by enjoying a bowl of yogurt or whole milk cereal before going to school in the morning.
For lunch, if you buy a school lunch, have milk with your meal or make yogurt, grilled cheese or a slice of pizza.
For those students making lunch, there are plenty of options to include dairy products. You can have a cheese stick, yogurt, diced bologna stuffed cheese, or your favorite dairy veggie dip that you can enjoy with your veggies.
After school, my favorite treat is always a bowl of cheese or ice cream.
Whatever you eat, make sure it’s made from genuine dairy products that contain all nine essential nutrients found in completely natural ways.
Ideally, children and adults should consume 3 servings of dairy products per day to stay healthy and strong. Include dairy products in your diet and do your best at school!
